Our independence

Our independence

The Association is independent of public, civil and military authorities, of any external organization whatsoever, and of any individual or collective supervision, as regards the aims it pursues and its own mode of action.

CRIIGEN was set up nearly 25 years ago with the aim of making available to everyone a committee of independent experts, i.e. not funded in any way by the agrochemical industry, to study the real impact of genetically modified organisms, pesticides, endocrine disruptors and other xenobiotics.

It's a challenge in a world where everything becomes binary, but Criigen's work has enabled us to make great strides in terms of the transparency of studies and to have major points of law judged, as shown by our recent victory against the Anses and Monsanto/Bayer, which highlighted the violation of the precautionary principle in the marketing authorization of glyphosate-based Roundup pro 360.

The credibility of an organization like Criigen depends, of course, on the quality of the studies it produces, but also on how different it is from militant non-governmental organizations, which are perfectly legitimate and necessary, but have a different objective. Criigen's job is to provide these and other organizations with the objective scientific evidence they need to defend their cause.

The covid crisis has created hysteria in society and made scientific debate difficult.

Nevertheless, this is not a good enough reason for Criigen to turn into a militant organization considered by many to be "anti-vax". All the more so as Criigen has never worked on or carried out any studies published in scientific journals on RNA vaccines...

The positions taken by certain members of Criigen's scientific and administrative boards should have remained personal.

Communication that had become militant and non-objective undermined Criigen's credibility, prompting the majority of its Board of Directors to take action. Publications deemed questionable were removed from the site. In response, some of the members involved left Criigen...

Since November 2021, we've been hacked three times, forcing us to redesign our site, as you can see...

That said, we continue to work on our core themes of pesticides, endocrine disruptors, GMOs and other xenobiotics: two legal actions underway concerning the withdrawal of certain pesticides, environmental health training for the medical profession, scientific organization of symposia, forthcoming publications and numerous conferences...

CRIIGEN, which has gone through difficult times in the past but has managed to survive since 1999, continues to work to develop the studies essential to understanding the negative effects on human health and living organisms of synthetic pesticides, endocrine disruptors and other products that jeopardize the health of living organisms.
