No agreement in Europe on glyphosate reauthorization.

No agreement in Europe on glyphosate reauthorization. Huglo Lepage sums it up well: The 27 EU member states have failed to reach agreement on the Commission's proposal to extend the authorization of glyphosate by ten years. This failure to reach agreement means that the choice of whether to re-authorize glyphosate in the European Union will now be left to the Commission, which had already expressed its wish to see its authorization renewed for a further ten years. In 2015, glyphosate was classified as a "probable carcinogen" by the International Agency for Research on Cancer.

Glyphosate in urine?

October 5, 2023 - Some misleading allegations implicating CRIIGEN, concerning our study on techniques for measuring glyphosate in urine, have been relayed on social networks. As Chairman, I must put an end to this outrageous campaign and clarify several points: Background: Since 2009, the question of whether or not glyphosate is found in urine has been a source of conflict, given that two analytical techniques are on the market: liquid chromatography coupled with tandem mass spectrometry (LC/MS-MS) and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA).

Insecticide herbicides!

Some Roundup and other "Glyphosate-Based Herbicides" (GBH) can be considered insecticides, as demonstrated by this publication: "A Roundup herbicide (glyphosate-based herbicide HBG) causes high mortality and impairs development of lacewing Chrysoperla carnea larvae" Ecotoxicological testing of herbicides focuses on non-target plants and higher animals, while direct effects on arthropods are only superficially tested on the basis of contact exposure. However, oral exposure, as we show in our case, can be highly relevant for systemic pesticides,

CRIIGEN: An independent reference

CRIIGEN was set up nearly 25 years ago with the aim of making available to everyone a committee of independent experts, i.e. not funded in any way by the agrochemical industry, to study the real impact of genetically modified organisms and pesticides. It's a challenge in a world where everything is binary, but Criigen's work has enabled us to make great progress in terms of transparency in studies, and to have major points of law judged, as revealed by our recent victory against Anses and Monsanto/Bayer, which highlighted the violation of the

Questions about the In Vivo study

When it was published, the long-term (two years) in vivo toxicological study on NK603 GM maize, and its associated pesticide Roundup, also tested on its own, received worldwide media exposure, raising many questions about this ground-breaking scientific work. Study protocol, rat strain, dosage... In this article, Prof. Séralini and his team of researchers answer point by point all the questions about their study. What is the magnitude of the difference between the mortality of controls and the historical norm? Each experiment has its own
